Mr Iyengar, patron of The Australian School of Yoga, is the Master
who introduced the ancient Indian discipline to the West. His method
is thorough and precise and emphasises creation within all yoga
postures.
Yoga means “union”. Through the physical discipline
we learn to unite the breathe, body, mind and spirit.
Yoga is a scientific fitness system that builds flexibilty, stamina,
endurance, balance, aerobic capacity, concentration and mental clarity,
and reduces stress.
Yoga works on and improves all of the body’s functions –
circulation, digestion,
nerves, respiration, hormones and reproduction. It creates good
posture by
aligning the skeletal structure. It keeps joints strong and freely
moving.
And it dispels tension, clears the mind and paves the way for deep
relaxation
and subsequent tranquility.
The practie of yoga is a valuable asset to be integrated into everyday
life.
